Anti Gay Pastor Goes Viral

This week in North Carolina an anti gay pastor posted a video on the church website of an anti gay speech. In the speech he claimed that homosexuals should be locked in a 100 mile electrified fence where the government would drop food and aid to the people. This speech became viral on YouTube where it has been viewed more that 250000 times. This speech as created a storm of both religious and political controversies. Many people are upset because of President Obama's comments but this contradicts messages of the bible and the constitution. Personally, I could not stop laughing during the speech.

Nuclear Inspector Killed in Iran

On Tuesday a South Korean nuclear inspector was killed in Iran. The state media claims that he was killed in a car crash, however it was rumored that Iran was experimenting with nuclear weapons again. People suspect that the Iranian Government may have been behind the death. Because of Iran's suspicious activities with people do not rule out the possibility of killing. Iran denies any connection to the death of the nuclear inspector.

Al Qaeda Plans Uncovered

Recently a 22 year old Austrian was captured by German police. The police searched the suspect and found a digital storage device and flash drives inside his underwear. Buried inside one of these devices was a pornographic video. Inside the folder was a file named Sexy Tanja. This file was password protected. After several weeks German authorities managed to crack the password and discovered that it was not actually porn buried in the bowels of the SD card. Instead it was a list of and plans for past, present, and future Al Qaeda plans. Some plans include hijacking, extortion, kidnapping, and other dastardly plans that would cripple the west. What counter terrorism organizations plan to do with this information at this point is unknown.

Drone in Iran

Recently in Iran a US spy drone has crashed inside their borders. Iran has claimed that they were able to reconstruct the drone and use the technology against the US. Many people do not see this as an immediate threat. The information and technology on the drone inst an immediate thread.

"We've asked for it back. We'll see how the Iranians respond," Obama said.

Troops Pose with Bomber's Body

Recently pictures of US airborne troops have been published by the LA Times have been released and have circulated. In the photo troops were posing with a body of a suspected suicide bomber. In the Photo US and Afghan troops are holding the body up by his legs. The military is currently investigating the situation and the soldiers will probably be identified and put on military trial. Regardless of the shock that the picture gives to the american people it will probably result in a counter attack. In the past when the US military has been involved with controversies a retaliation has occurred. However no action has been taken at this point, but only time will tell the result of these photos resurfacing.

North Korean Launch

This week in the DRPK a new launch site has been opened up to the international community. North Korea has explained to the international media that this is not a long range ballistic missile test and it is in fact a satellite launch. The DRPK claims that the launch is for peaceful reasons only but the US and Japan suspect that it is only a cover up to test a new missile. Officials have not found any nuclear material on the missile. Apparently the satellite will be used to collect data on crops, forests and weather. Given North Korea's history with missiles the act of launching a "satellite" into orbit raised suspicions all over the world. Whether or not this is actually for collecting data of just another missile test is anyone's guess at this point.

Iran Training Female Death Squads

This week in Iran it was relieved that the government has been training women the ancient art of ninjutsu. It is hypothesized that these hit squads will be deployed at several capitols of western countries in order to assasinate key members of the government. The weapons used by the assassins is unknown at this time but several governments predict that the attacks will be swift, deadly and efficient. Several of these women are already deployed in countries as sleeper agents and can be given orders at any time to strike at any place with deadly speed. Barack Obama held a press conference in order to give the United States citizens peace of mind. "There are few things more deadly than Iranian ninjas, but i assure the american people that they are safe!"

Slavery's Last Stronghold

Mauritina is last place in the world to have slavery. Slavery was not a crime until 2007, and since then only one slave owner has been successfully prosecuted. In Mauritina the government officially abolished slavery in 1981 making it the very last country in the world to abolish it. Approximately 10 to 20% of the population is enslaved. The government has done little to nothing to combat this horrible human rights violation and this problem continues today. Many people would never imagine a place where slavery still exists but this problem does not exist in one country in western Africa. Human trafficking exists around the world, even in the United States, and the awareness of this problem is low. People need to stand up and confront these issues if Maurutina will ever truely abolish of slavery, and eliminate human trafficking around the world.

Massacre In Afghanistan

On Monday the Taliban vowed revenge on the United States for the killing of 16 civilians. Allegedly a US staff Sargent walked off a base and killed 9 children, 3 women, and 4 men. The US has detained the soldier responsible for these murders. The Afghan government is encouraging the US to hold a trial in front of the civilians. This event obviously created a rift between the civilians and the soldiers. Theses killings only make the situation worse because of the Quran burning last month. The situation in Afghanistan will only get worse unless this situation is handled in an appropriate way.

Putin Declares Victory

Thousands of people rallied against Putin in Moscow on Monday. The result of the election seemed very controversial to most people claiming that the election was skewed in his favor. Putin won the election with 63% of the votes. European officials claim that Putin has abused his executive power in order to keep his power. Many people accuse Putin and his followers of ballot stuffing and other ways of rigging the election. There is suspicion that the number of voters at each polling station exceeded the number of registered voters. Many different countries have encouraged the Russian government to conduct an investigation to confirm if these accusations.

North Korea Halts Nuclear Activities for Food

Recently the DRPK has agreed to halt its tests, launches, and enrichment activities in exchange for 240,000 metric tons of nutritional aid. This gesture may signify a changing in time. Because of the change in power it could result in a change of times. The hostilities toward the west could be leaving because of the influence of the DRPK's new leader. If more aid comes to north Korea the hostilities between the DRPK could come to an end.

Iran Could Increase US Fuel Prices

Recently Iran has been cutting their oil supplies to several countries. Iran has already cut off its supply to Britain and France and is threatening to do the same for several other European countries. This does not directly affect the US, but it would create a ripple effect. If The supplies are cut the demand will increase, resulting in higher prices. Even though the United States does not use Iran for oil, the supply cut will impact the US. Because of the supply cut and the already high demand countries will use oil reserves that the US uses the supply lessens, and with the demand of oil being extremely high the price will increase. Experts have predicted that gas prices over the summer could reach as high as $5.00 a gallon if the supply cut effects the United States as predicted.

Apple Improving Conditions in Chinese Factories

Recently Apple has been in the middle of a controversy regarding the working conditions in its Chinese factories. Apparently the manufacturer that Apple uses has been using child labor. Apple is clearly trying to eliminate Child labor on its products, but now that the public has knowledge of child labor in china how do we know how much of our imported products have been manufactured using child labor. Apples charge on preventing child labor is admirable but only makes it seem like they are trying to save there own skin. Wouldn't Apple know if these factories were using child labor? In my opinion Apple should have had more knowladge of the issue and the consumer shouldn't rule out the possibility that Apple had knowladge of child labor in its factories.

Iran Meets with UN Nuclear Team

This week Iran let UN nuclear inspectors inside their borders to verify that the nuclear production in the country was not for the production of nuclear weapons. The UN has been putting pressure on Iran because they have been allegedly using their nuclear technology to develop atomic weapons. The UN inspectors in Iran show a trust and willingness to negotiate with the United Nations. This gesture of cooperation could be a sign of peace between the UN and Iran.

State of the Union

Two days ago Barack Obama gave his state of the Union address to inform the nation and members of congress about the current state of the union. According to Obama the economy is recovering, more jobs are being created and unemployment is falling. However the economy is still on a long road to recovery. The United States is still trillions in debt and there is still instability in several industries and  the largest banks in the US are still too large to fail. The state of the union address was mainly about the road to economic recovery. His most important points were that new sustainable jobs should be created to help promote long term stability and companies should be rewarded for keeping jobs inside the US. Personally I feel like the the road to recovery will be achieved by regulation of banks and businesses, jobs in the US and bipartisan negotiation and compromise on a long term, safe recovery plan.

Kim Jong Un

Recently Kim Jong Ill, the former dictator of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea has died, leaving Kim Jong Un in charge as the new head of state. Many people including his half brother believe that he is not capable of leading the DRPK. Kim Jong Un is only 27 years old and is the youngest head of state in the world. Many people believe that He is not capable of ruling the DPRK as well as Kim Il Sung or Kim Jong Il. There is a lot of doubt that has been cast upon Kim Jong Un and many people believe he will only worsen the situation in North Korea. Personally I believe that Kim Jong Un is not capable of leading the North Korean People because he has not been groomed like his father and he lacks the leadership skills that have been demonstrated by his father and grandfather. In short I believe that his is not experienced and not prepared for his new position  .
